      WHO SHOULD ATTEND THIS COURSE?
  • Anyone interested in learning about today's tentmaking missions, either to go or to mobilize others to go.
  • Active tentmakers looking to improve their ministry skills for more effective service.
  • Business as Mission (BAM) people who want their businesses to have a ministry component.
  • Missions leaders with a vision to add a tentmaking component to their organization.
  • ESL teachers who want to do more than just teach English as a second language.

 

Connections - Students will post topics of interest on a white board during the days, and then we divide discussion groups accordingly
with a facilitator for each group. These are informal discussion times.

We are very excited at being able to bring Steinar Opheim of TENT Norway to this course as a guest speaker.
He is the director of one of the most effective tentmaking organizations in the world, serving Norway and Europe.
His tentmaking story will inspire you and his clear articulate teaching will feed you.

There are also other guest speakers whose names we can not publish in advance. Trust that they will also am
aze you with their ongoing stories.

GLAD Tidings church has also given us a wonderful meeting and fellowship room. It will be easy to step out direct from the classroom to enjoy fresh air during breaks.

Lunch will be light and dinner will be a hot three course meal.
Breakfast will be at your hotel or homestay. Coffee, tea, great tasting Victoria water & snacks will be available at all times.
All preparation of food and snacks will be done by a volunteer team from Glad Tidings Church.
This adds up to 250 meal servings plus snacks! Make sure you bless this team!

How to get here...

From Victoria International Airport (YYJ)
Shuttle bus to downtown, get off at City Hall bus stop, walk two blocks.

From Swartz Bay Ferry terminal on Vancouver Island
Double decker city bus, get off at City Hall bus stop, walk two blocks. A few bucks, have change ready. About one hour.

From downtown Victoria Inner Harbour
• Walk or pedicab - 15-20 minute scenic walk. Many restaurants and coffee shops enroute.

Options from Vancouver (YVR)
• Fly to Victoria - 15 minutes
Pacific Coach Lines Bus from airport to ferry to downtown Victoria - 3.5 hours total
City bus, but with two exchanges enroute to Tsawwassen ferry terminal. Much cheaper but takes longer.
BC Ferries from Tsawwassen to Swartz Bay ferry terminal - 90 minute scenic cruise through small islands.
   Enjoy good food onboard, we recommend the Clam Chowder.

Options from Seattle Washington (USA)
• Fly to Victoria - 35 minutes (Alaska/Horizon Air)
Bus from airport to Seattle Harbor - 1 hour
• High speed Catamaran Ferry from downtown Seattle to downtown Victoria - 90 minutes

From Port Angeles Washington (USA)
Coho ferry to downtown Victoria - 95 minutes. Walk or pedicab to church. About 2 miles.
