Mobilizing tentmakers to reach the world. |

Tentmakers are missions-committed Christians who work in secular jobs in order to reach another people group. The tentmaker's witness flows from the natural network of contacts which occur on the job. Effective tentmakers communicate the gospel by word and deed through excellence in work, caring relationships, and well-chosen comments about God in the context of everyday life. These draw seekers into further pursuit of the gospel, usually in investigative Bible studies.
For a longer discussion of the Biblical basis for tentmaking, please read the GO Paper "Why Did Paul Make Tents?"
To mobilize, equip, and support missions-committed Christians to serve abroad as effective tentmakers among the least evangelized peoples.
God does not lead everyone to become tentmakers. We are committed to do all we can to help committed Christians find God's place for them in the world whether as traditional missionaries or as tentmakers.
As stated above, GO is not a sending agency which appoints and sends missionaries. Rather we are a fellowship of people committed to tentmaking in order to reach needy people groups for Christ. GO is open to any Christian who is committed to making Christ known to another people group overseas and who has the gifts, skills, spiritual maturity, and emotional health for this ministry.
A wide assortment of GO training materials are available to the public at no charge. (See Training Materials) GO also conducts training courses at our headquarters in Pasadena and at other locations around the country. We are available to lead seminars and workshops at churches and missions conferences as requested. (See Training Events)
For those who are accepted as GO Associates, members of the GO fellowship, we provide
assistance with finding a job overseas, training materials, courses and connections with
mission agencies and coworkers abroad. To learn more about becoming a GO Associate, please
request an application form.
